Decluttering room by room sounds productive… until you are standing in the middle of a bigger mess holding a gravy boat and wondering what happened.
Decluttering your home does not have to mean pulling everything out, covering every surface with piles, and creating projects so big they drain all your energy.
In this video, I’m sharing why decluttering room by room keeps so many people stuck, and the easier method that finally helped me make real progress.
Because here’s what I realized…
It wasn’t about working harder.
It wasn’t about buying more bins.
It was about using a method that actually matched the season of life I’m living now.
When I stopped focusing on rooms and started focusing on categories, everything changed.
My home felt lighter… calmer… and a whole lot easier to manage.
In this video, I walk you through:
• Why decluttering room by room often leads to burnout
• The hidden reason your home still feels too full
• How to use the category method for faster progress with less mess
• Easy places to start so you can build momentum quickly
• Why choosing what stays works better than hunting for what goes
If you are tired of starting over, feeling overwhelmed, or wondering why traditional decluttering advice is not working anymore, this will help you see things differently.

How many flour sack towels do I need? Not 24. I kept four, threw away three that were badly stained and the rest went into the donate box. We loaded up the car with eight donate boxes and on the way to the car, I saw my old toaster oven underneath a plastic bag. Was I going to use it again? Nope. It had been there for two years and I had never given it a second thought. It’s in the car ready for drop-off. I saw some other things I needed to donate, but the trunk is full and I don’t want to put off getting them to GW any longer than tomorrow.
I gathered my cleaning products onto one shelf. I’m not even going to tell you how many I have. Some were half full, some were nearly empty, and some were full. I used the nearly empties first. Not only have I made room, but I’m not spending money on cleaning stuff that I already have.
Dear Tracy Lynn, I thank God for you. You have made my morning cheerful. It’s the first time I came across your inspiring videos. I have laughed so much! Between the coffee cans, the towels, the coffee mugs, etc. 😂😂😂 ❤❤❤ Now to watch your “Decluttering Papers.” I have a ton. 😫 I need to take your advice! God bless you! ❤
Try not sound like you’re reading from a script. This deliverance could definitely use some work.
It’s is true then u might try another room then they all end up a bigger mess
This is awesome advice. I have never decluttered this way before and already it seems to make alot of since. I’m going to try this. Thanks
